What the heck are you thinking when you open your car door into the body of someone else’s car?

Kal-El asked:

I mean seriously. If you are that rude and inconsiderate that it is difficult for you to mind your car door when you open it, maybe you should just hand over your personal property to me and the others that you smash so that we can cause damage to it. Not the cheap stuff either. I’m talking about your wedding or engagement bands, maybe that designer wristwatch, or something else that is valuable to you or your child. Am I being unrealistic? I mean, I know that my car is worth much, much more than anything that you could hand me. So why would you probably not give it to me? I’ll tell you why. Because it means something to you just like my car means something to me and you don’t want that valuable possession of yours any more damaged than I want my car damaged. We’ll take a nicely priced $10,000 ring or watch as an example. Still worth far less than my car. When you dent my car, wait fo me, hand me the item and allow me to drag it over the concrete. They can buff it out right
You guys are absolutely right about parking at the furthest reaches of the parking lot, end spaces, and other inconvenient spots for the sake of prolonging the appearance of my car. I do all of these things. This most recent event actually happened when I parked in an out-of-reach area. The place got busy and somebody, that just had to have a spot in that area, created one in an area that I thought I had sealed off. Result: 1 door dent with rub with scratch over rear wheel well.
